How to do Meditation and Deep Breathing for Inner Peace

We already discussed the relationship between yoga and meditation and how meditation can help you be happy and healthy. Now, we’re going to teach you how to do meditation with the help of deep breathing which can bring you inner peace and happiness. Meditation is an art and a technique, although not very difficult to learn and understand. Some people have made it look like a very strange and tough thing though. That’s really not the case. In this article, you’ll see how simple it is to meditate.

The first thing you need to know in order to learn how to perform meditation is that you need some place quite to sit. It can be a room in your house where nobody interrupts you and where you get fresh air. It can be outdoors where no one interferes with your meditation practice. Make sure the place is quite and there is not much noise around. Once you have found such a place, you’re ready to take on the next step.

You need to sit down with your legs crossed to perform meditation. Put your hands on your knees and keep your back straight. Don’t put burden on any part of your body. Keep your back and neck straight and inline. Bring your chest forward and slowly push your shoulders backwards. You should feel relaxed and calm and there should be no burden on any part of your body.

Once you’re comfortable with this position, you need to start next step of deep breathing. But first you need to understand that deep breathing helps you take fresh air and oxygen in and throws carbon dioxide out. This helps clean your inner system. The oxygen is life and the more oxygen you take in the better you’ll feel physically and mentally. It will provide you energy. It will boost your confidence as well. With the posture you made in the previous step, close your eyes. Inhale slowly for about 2 seconds.

You can count like this one thousand one, one thousand two. Then stop for a second or so and then start exhaling. Exhale for four seconds counting one thousand one, one thousand two, one thousand three, one thousand four. Keep inhaling and exhaling slowing for some time. You can perform first session for about 1 minute and then gradually increase the time of your meditation up to a 5 or 10 minutes or even more if you like. Once you’re done with the mediation session, you’ll feel the inner peace and happiness. You’ll feel healthier and excited. Continue your sessions on regular basis.
