If your parents didn’t give you love or didn’t provide you unconditional love, or they overprotected you then that could have caused your anxiety attacks and anxiety disorder. If your parents always wanted to protect you and keep you safe even from imaginary threats, or they were so careful about you that they wanted to do everything for you then in the teen and adulthood years that might cause anxiety because you were never told how to do and manage things at your own including managing your fears, anxiety, and stress.

However, if you think that your parents treated you well and nurtured you in a well mannered way. They provided you with unconditional love and gave you confidence to do things at your own then move on to the next step and find out the cause of your anxiety in some trauma. If you had to face some horrible event or situation in your past, that can cause stress and anxiety. This includes accidents, natural disasters, terrorism, injuries and abuse. As these events are unexpected and extreme in nature, they leave a long term foot prints in your brain. They train your brain to think of something unexpected and bad to happen and your body always keeps itself ready for something of similar nature. Even though you know such things happen rarely, you keep thinking about it consciously or unconsciously. This increases your level of anxiety.

Does that mean you cannot do anything to manage these causes of anxiety attacks? You can handle your panic attacks and general anxiety quite well.
